Welcome to Ribblesdale Wanderers



Ribblesdale Wanderers, founded in 1891, is an England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Club Mark accredited cricket club based in Clitheroe, Lancashire.


We boast 3 senior cricket teams with the First XI having competed in the Ribblesdale Cricket League since 1907.


In 2022 the Ribblesdale League merged with the Bolton League to form the North West Cricket League.


Our Ladies play in the North West Winter league and Lancashire East Women’s Soft Ball 8 League. They also compete in many Prosecco tournaments!


The Junior section at the club is thriving with ECB qualified Level coaches managing teams from Under 9s all the way up to Under 13 level.Our junior teams compete in the Lancashire League in their respective age groups and the future is bright with some very promising cricket players being developed.


We also have a very established and thriving Crown Green Bowling Section that has 5 teams competing in 3 different local leagues. In addition we are renowned for our floodlit Bowling competitions that attract the best talent from across the country.


We have a very active social scene with our premises in use all year round and available for hire, We host several club based social events throughout the year.

The 2nd Team have only gone and won the NWCL Conference 2 title!


The boys did it the hard way today - a proper, gritty performance where they had to dig in deep and fight for every ball.


That wasn't just a win; it was a statement. Brilliant character from every single one of them.


They've been fantastic all season, and today they proved exactly why they deserve to be champions.


Absolutely buzzing for them!

Under 11's - champions !!



Our junior season is nearing an end.


What an end for the U11s. They played in a top of the table clash, coming out victorious to win their league with a brilliant final game.


🏆🏏 Congratulations to all the team and Chris Mulhearn on a fantastic season.


The U13s finished second in their league. A great season with a big group of players, all showing great progress whether it was their first season or their fifth!


The U9s have one more game to play 🤞 they have had a fantastic first season, both as individual players, a team and our first U9s team for the club.


Big thanks to all the players, parents and of course our great group of coaches and volunteers.


We have 3 more weeks of training to enjoy, then put parents Vs kids evening on September 19th and presentation evening on the 26th. 😁

Heshan Dhanushka is staying!

Re-signed for 2026!

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that professional cricketer Heshan Dhanushka has re-signed with Ribblesdale Wanderers for the 2026 season!


Heshan made an extraordinary impact in his debut season, delivering a true all-rounder's masterclass that has cemented his place as a firm favourite at the club.


With the Bat: A monumental 967 runs, including a top score of 112*, at a stunning average of 42.04.


With the Ball: A devastating 64 wickets, with a best of 8/43 and a remarkable average of 14.14.


These aren't just numbers; they're match-winning contributions that have propelled the team all season.


Beyond the stats, Heshan's positive attitude, professionalism, and popularity around the club have made him a priceless part of the Wanderers family.


We are delighted to secure his talents for another year and can't wait to see him back in action in 2026!

Ribblesdale Classic Finals Day
Sunday 25th May 2025



Congratulations to Callum WRAIGHT (Shrewsbury) who was crowned The Ribblesdale Classic Champion 2025 and took home the magnificent trophy and £1600! Callum defeated Ryan CLARK (Sheffield) 21/18 in a thrilling final that kept everyone entertained and engaged.


The hundreds in attendance and thousands online enjoyed a high quality match fitting for the final! Callum also qualifies for the BCGBA Champion of Champions in September.


Congratulations also to Harley TATTERSLEY (Dewsbury) who defeated Ryan HOCKNULL (West Bromwich) 21-16 in a great junior final. Harley won the trophy and £400 as The Junior Ribblesdale Classic champion.


What a day we had yesterday, the weather held up pretty well despite a poor forecast and hundreds of people arrived from around the country to watch the Grand Final! The buzz around the place made everyone enjoy it and to see peoples reactions when they walked around to see a green surrounded fully by people makes it worthwhile.


The atmosphere built throughout the day and I am sure people were enjoying the top quality matches. It makes this event worthwhile when you see the support we got yesterday and we’d like to thank each and every one of you that came to watch! Over the last month and a half we’ve had players and spectators from all over visit our event and it is hugely appreciated.......................
